Electrical Inspection and Testing
RH
Electrical carry out Electrical
Inspection and Testing
of properties (PIR's - Periodic Inspection Reports). This test/inspection covers
the fixed wiring of the installation.
It is a requirement of Law that Companies make sure that
their working environment is 'safe'
for their staff. Insurance companies will often not provide cover
unless an Electrical Inspection and Test has been carried out by a
competent Electrician and a 'Certificate / Report' is produced.
Landlords are also encouraged to employ the services of an
Electrician to carry out a full Electrical Inspection and Test. If a
Tenant were to be injured from an unsafe electrical installation and it was proved that the Landlord didn't take
the necessary steps to make sure that the installation was safe,
then the Landlord would be held responsible.
There are many Letting Agencies
that often insist on an Inspection and Test to be carried out and a
'Certificate / Report' produced.
Also, prospective Homebuyers should have a full test carried out
before purchase as this will show up any deficiencies in the wiring
systems that may be present. The only way that the wiring can be
checked thoroughly is to use specialist testing equipment. A general
Building Surveyor will not check the electrics this thoroughly, only
a qualified Electrician can properly check the electrical
installation.
We also carry out
PAT Testing
(Portable Appliance Testing) which is required for Companies and
Landlords. This tests appliances that are plugged into a socket
outlet. |
